Logistical Information for the Special Summit of the Americas

The XXXIV Meeting of the Summit Implementation Review Group (SIRG) was held on January 8-10, 2004 in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Dialogue between Plenipotentiaries and Civil Society Representatives took place on January 11th 2004, at Hotel Quinta Real in the Diego Rivera #500 in the Francionamiento Valle Oriente, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. For more information, please click here.

The Regional Forum, Civil Society in the Process of Hemispheric Integration within the Framework of the Special Summit of the Americas, was held on November 24 &25, 2003 in Mexico City, Mexico. To view more information on this event, please click here.

The XXXII Meeting of the SIRG was held in Mexico City, Mexico on October 23rd –24th, 2003.The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the draft declaration that Mexico presented. The country representatives through their comments and suggestions demonstrated a keen interest in having a declaration that contains the countries commitments, is focused on issues specific to regional interests, and supports a combination of multilateral and national actions to solve critical problems affecting people in the Hemisphere.

The XXXI Meeting of the SIRG was held in Washington, DC on September 22, 2003.   The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the upcoming Special Summit of the Americas to be hosted by the government of Mexico. This SIRG meeting included discussions on topics such as the Summit Program, format for the Political Dialogue and considerations of the Draft Declaration.  Countries were very keen on ensuring that this Special Summit remain focused on specific issues and support multilateral and national actions to solve critical problems affecting people in the Hemisphere.
