The expansion program has benefited from private sector involvement and is financed by several international organizations including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Andean Development Corporation (CAF) and the International Finance Cooperation (IFC) of the World Bank. This expansion, which will conclude in 2014, is expected to generate a significant increase in income for Panama and contribute to the creation of approximately 19,000 jobs. |
