Did you know...

...that Pro-Huerta Haiti increased by 50% the number of families benefitting from the production of fresh foods in 2010? Some 15,000 Haitian families participated in this food security program which boosted its activities following the January 2010 earthquake. Pro-Huerta Haiti forms part of a multilateral cooperation project among the governments of Haiti, Argentina, and Canada, in partnership with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).

Paragraph 23, Fifth Summit of the Americas: “…We recognise the negative impact on our people of food crises when they occur, and commit to taking urgent and coordinated action, working in partnership with the relevant international and regional organisations, as appropriate, to develop and implement comprehensive policies and programmes in order to confront the challenges of food security…”

Since its inception, the Government of Barbados, the World Food Program, Spain’s International Cooperation for Development Agency, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development have joined a growing list of countries/organizations supporting the project.
